FAQs
Which age group will my child be in?
Information about age groups is available at https://www.nswathletics.org.au/nsw-athletics/individual-age-summaries
Can I use Active Kids Vouchers for Little Athletics?
Yes, Active Kids Vouchers can be used towards registration at any Little Athletics NSW centre. If you have not already obtained the 2024 Active and Creative Kids Vouchers for your child and wish to use one of them for Little Athletics registration, you will first need to apply for the voucher at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-for-an-active-and-creative-kids-voucher before beginning the registration process. Once you have a voucher, you simply enter the specific voucher number allocated to the child that you are registering into the appropriate box within the registration portal, and the registration fee payable will be reduced accordingly.
How do I purchase uniforms?
Uniforms can be purchased as part of the registration process and collected on one of our Muster Nights prior to the start of the season, or purchased on a Muster Night.
How do I learn more about each event?
Little Athletics NSW has Event Fact Sheets on their website: https://lansw.com.au/event-fact-sheet/
Where are my childs results kept?
https://resultshq.com.au/login
What support and training is available for Age Managers?
Training will be offered on Muster Nights for Age Managers and parents which will explain the basic rules of each of the field events. Little Athletics NSW has prepared a range of resources for Age Managers, including an online training course. More information is available at https://lansw.com.au/for-age-managers/
How do I progress to Zone, Region and State Championships?
The progression pathway depends on the athletes' age group: 9s-12s will progress from Zone to Region to State based on their results at each Championship (7s and 8s can enter Zone, but 7s don't progress to Region and 8s don't progress to State). 13s-15s will qualify for Region based on their Zone results, but results from other identified NSW Athletics events e.g. Treloar Shield, will be included with the Region results when determining "next best" results for progression from Region to State. 16s, 17s, and U20 will enter State via direct entry. They can compete at Zone and Region but they don't need to in order to qualify for State.
How does my child qualify for Age Champion at the end of the season?
The following system is used to calculate points for end of season awards: 3 points for participating in an event, plus 4 points for coming 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for forth for each event, plus 6 points for achieving a PB (Personal Best) in an event, or 3 points for equalling a PB. The first time an athlete does an event each season will automatically be a PB. If an athlete can’t compete on our Friday night competition because they are away at another event representing our club they will be awarded points to compensate them for this. The points will be determined by calculating the average points per night across the season. At the end of the season the top placegetters in each age group will receive an award. The Age Managers will also present an Age Managers Award. All athletes who attend the presentation will receive a medal.
